Texas Tradition Photography presents|The Who I Am Project

This time of the year we always sit down with a renewed energy and list out all the things we aspire to do with our fresh new year. This year, Texas Tradition Photography is celebrating our 25th year anniversary.  This is hard to believe since photography businesses usually don’t stick around that long. Well surprise, we are still here.  More about our 25th anniversary later.

For this year, 2019, I’d like to focus my renewed energy on someone other than myself. I have photographed many ages over the years and have loved them all.  However, I have noticed that there is one age group that has been consistently missing. And it’s a shame because these kids are fun, funny, smart and have a lot to teach us.  I LOVE to invest in OUR kids and OUR future.

Do you ever look back at your family photos and cherish those cute little baby images?  You know the ones where you have big chubby cheeks and bright eager eyes? And then there are the cute toddler images, preschool adorable-ness and grade school images of you with your friends.  And then poof, you just disappear. What happened just before you were a teenager? Did your parents send you away to boarding school? Did they forget about you?

I heard about a photography project developed by Lisa Edwards called the WHO I AM Project. The goal of the project is simple… to make preteens look and feel beautiful and be confident in who they are.  If you remember when you were 10, 11, and 12 years old, you remember how emotionally hard it was to find where you fit in.

I don’t know about you, but if there is something I can do to create unshakable confidence in preteen girls and boys before they hit middle school, then I’m ALL in!

Who are we looking for? We are looking for girl and boy models for our photography project, ages 10-12.  We will ask the model and their parents a few questions, then combine the text and photographs to create one impactful piece of art.

Why “Who I Am”?  We want to capture the personality of these tweens and record the last stage of their childhood before they become teenagers. We want them to realize their true beauty so that they are confident in themselves before they hit middle school.  Imagine the impact a single beautiful image can do for your tween’s self-image.

How to participate or nominate a friend:  Please email us by Friday January 18th if you are interested in having your child participate in this project, or if you would like to nominate a friend or family member of yours that you think would be perfect for this.  Please nominate people you think would enjoy the boutique experience we provide.  The in-studio session itself is complimentary and includes $50 in product credit (a total of $150 value).  Our goal is to create a gorgeous group of photos you’ll love and that truly show your tween’s spirit and soul!  Many people like to use these photos as birthday, Mother/Father’s day and “just because” gifts for their tween.  Our portrait collections start at $235 .

Fill out the short form below to email us. We will send you specific details and you can decide if this project is perfect for your tween.

We are hoping to build confidence in our future.  Talk to you soon,  Lisa
