Check out this poster we created with the dancers at McKinney Dance Academy. The girls are super talented. We really enjoyed photographing their studio this year. It was our first year and the entire school (and parents) are fantastic!! Thank you Dari. We will see you next year. If you’d like to check out their dance school (which I highly recommend) you can go to their website for details. Mckinney Dance Academy
“Our” Dr. Thames – Carrollton Family Portrait Photographer
I’m sure a lot of you recognize this staff! We have been working with Dr. Thames and his staff for a couple of years now and love them all. I challenge you to find another orthodontist that is as friendly as they are! (and good looking) If you need braces, or if you think you need braces, you should check them out at www.DrThames.com
The Sanchez Family 2012 – Carrollton Family Photography
Here are a few images from the Sanchez family portrait session. We met at a beautiful greenbelt park in Carrollton. It was a hot day, but just perfect for this family portrait session. Andrea, the oldest daughter, was one of our 2013 senior models. We had an amazing time and I hope you enjoy their portraits as much as we do.
Class of 2013… – Carrollton Senior Photographer
With your junior year well in the rear view mirror, it’s full speed ahead to your senior year. Toward the end of summer, the pace will pick up with school activities, SAT testing, college visits and the holidays. Now is the time to start planning out your year.
As a senior parent, you are likely to be overwhelmed with this last year of high school and find yourself wondering if you have done enough to prepare your son/daughter for their adult life… take a deep breath, make a to do list, get a calendar and get started… one thing at a time.
The logical thing to start with is your senior portrait session. Why? First of all, it’s fun and it is something you can do with your senior. Second, your schedule is the most flexible during the summer and third, you will need current portraits for the yearbook PDA, college and scholarship applications, theater auditions and graduations announcements. There are SO many reasons why this is the best time to call. Summer is almost over. Let’s get started.
2013 Seniors are Savvy – North Dallas Senior Photography
It seems like our seniors this year are much more fashion savvy than in the past. Their outfits appear to be more thought out and carefully pieced together. It is such an inspiration to a fashion victim like myself. Although we coach our seniors on what to bring before their session, we have to be somewhat vague since the kids have their own style and usually dress better than the normal adult. The last thing I want to do is hold back their creativity. I must say that I love the colorful shoes I have been seeing… from the boys and the girls.
We have been photographing seniors since school has been out and it has been very eventful. The kids make me laugh. They are fun and funny and just typically… teenager-ish. I love it. I would never go back to the teenage years, but I love working with them. They are all excited about their senior year, yet a little overwhelmed about picking the perfect college. I know they will work through it… it’s all a part of life. I’m just glad I have the pleasure of being their senior photographer…. and eventually their wedding photographer when the time is right.
I’m always up to something…
Over the years the photography industry has changed SO much! It seems like there is always something new to learn. When I have free time, (ha ha) I usually choose to clean house, spend time with my family or read the stack of photography magazines I have sitting in the nook by my bedroom. Well, this weekend I had (took) time to do all three.
My husband, daughter and I went to see the movie Brave. It was super cute. We haven’t seen a move in a really long time so it was good to get out. But, as I was sitting there with my super cute 3D glasses on, I couldn’t help be notice all of the information that was being thrown at me. There were posters on the walls and cute little cut out signs and adorable animated commercials on the big screen. It was hard to relax with all of that going on but it was interesting to see how much NEW information gets thrown at us in such a short amount of time. The remarkable thing about it was that even my 9 year old daughter retained a lot of it. She came home talking about the funny little songs they sang before the show even started.
Usually I’m not always thinking about ME, but I am always thinking about Texas Tradition Photography. So, I wondered how all of this information could possible relate to my business. And then it hit me. We do a lot of fun things around here, but unless you show up for the fun, you almost never hear about it. The bunnies come and go, the senior sessions come and go… the weddings, the newborns, dance schools… I am having SO much fun and it seems like no one knows.
So, that brings me to this NEW blog. I’m not an amazing writer or anything like that, but I do want to share my passion for photography with you. So, if you are interested in hearing about the adventures of a girl with a passion for photography…. from a little town in Dallas, then follow along.
