Anyone up for a Snow Fight in Carrollton Texas?|I will clean up the mess

Raise your hand if you love snow…. but you hate to be cold… and you live in Texas… Dallas to be specific.

If you raised your hand, then you probably don’t have very many memories of playing in the snow or even getting to touch the snow.  If you are like me, a native Texan, then most of your ideas and dreams of snow come from TV, FB, or in my case, The Hallmark Channel.

This is what inspired my SNOW FIGHT mini session. I see beautiful pictures of snow and snowmen on FB and in movies, but we just don’t have that here in Texas. So, I created a snow set in my camera room.

I don’t think kids are the only ones allowed to have fun, so bring the whole family.  We will start with a quick family portrait session and a few small groups and then have a quick snow fight at the end.  Boom, we have your portraits for family gifts, Christmas cards and created some really fun family memories.

P.S. tell dad it’s a mini session, so it won’t be too painful for him.

Are you ready to get in on the fun? Visit our website for more information and to schedule your appointment. Mini session dates are December 2nd, 6th and 7th.

Happy 25th Anniversary Texas Tradition Photography
Yes, We are celebrating! And we want you to join us.
It might surprise you to find out that I’ve never popped a bottle of champagne.  How is that possible? Well, photographers are always photographing the person shooting that stream of happiness across the room. (I am very good at dodging that cork)
In honor of Texas Tradition Photography’s 25th anniversary, I decided to try something new.  Thank you to my friends Sandy and Kevin for helping me pull this off.  Sandy from Sandra Lynch Photography guided me in opening the bottles (it took two) and captured the craziness as it unfolded.  It was quite entertaining watching my hilarious attempts to make the champagne spew.  And also a big thank you to my friend Kevin from Stuff in the Ruff for creating an amazing winter wonderland background out of my plain brown door.
As promised, today we are announcing our Portrait in the Park and Home for the Holiday dates. If you are new to our Texas Tradition Photography family, you can check out our website for more info on these two amazing events.

Yes, I’m one of THOSE people|Hallmark Christmas Movies|Carrollton Professional Photographer

HalmarkShirtSocks_081125

I’m not embarrassed to tell you…  that, I am one of those people who watch ALL the Hallmark movies. But I especially look forward to the Countdown to Christmas. Yes they are sappy and they all end the same way… in fact, my daughter has them all dissected. When she walks in the room and I’m watching a Hallmark movie, she asks me if i’m at the part where the main characters meet and don’t like each other (this indicates that I just started the movie) or if there has been a “fall” and a “catch” (this indicates that the couple just started to like each other) or if someone has gotten something on their face and the other person wipes it off (this is about half way through the movie when they realize that they are falling in love).  Now, if I’m to the part where they almost kiss and they get interrupted, then she knows the movie is almost over.
I think the fact that I love to watch these movies, says a lot about me.  First, I must love romance with a fairy tale ending. This makes perfect sense since I photographed weddings for most of my adult life. Happy endings give you hope and something good to look forward to. And second, I love family. The holidays and holiday movies remind me of how special family is to me. The movies remind me to slow down and put family first. Yes, there are always a few crazy people in every family, but that’s what makes families so much fun!
I’m grateful for the gift of my career this time of year.  I love seeing how the holidays bring people together. Which leads us perfectly into FAMILY PORTRAIT SEASON!!

What would make YOUR senior portraits AMAZING?

When it comes to Senior Portraits, we know what we are talking about.  How can I say that with such confidence? Because I listen!  I listen to what my past seniors tell me, I listen to what my current seniors tell me, and I’m going to listen to what YOU tell me.

Your senior portraits are going to be AMAZING. So, start thinking about what that means to you. Will they be taken inside the studio surrounded by all of your pointe shoes? Will they be outside in a pasture… in front of some city buildings… on a football field with bleachers and a scoreboard in the background… with your favorite pet pig? Okay, that’s a lot to think about, but we can brain storm and come up with what AMAZING senior portraits look like to YOU. Together we’ve got this!

What next? I’m glad you asked. Right now is the best time to schedule your 2020 senior portrait session. We are launching our first and best 2020 senior portrait session special.  It only runs for two weeks and the best summer appointment times fill up fast.

What is happening at Texas Tradition Photography? Could it be a New Limited Edition Portrait set?

YES!  It could!  If you are a long time follower of Texas Tradition Photography, then you are aware that last year was our first time in 15 years to NOT do Santa portraits.  This was a VERY hard decision for us to make, however sometimes we have to take a step back in order to move forward.

I felt that our children’s portrait offerings were become a little tired… stale… boring…etc. And for us in the creative world, this is never a good feeling.  I either want to give you 100%, or nothing at all.  I took the year off from Limited Edition sessions to brainstorm and survey and find out exactly which road I wanted to take with my children’s portraits.  My biggest goals are 1. to make it easy for my parents 2. make it fun for the kids and 3. make it exceptionally creative and unlike anything offered in my area.

There are hundreds of photographers in Dallas and I don’t want to mingle in with the crowd.  I want to stand out. And I know YOU will benefit from the year of waiting! Here is a little peek of what’s on the horizon. Just to give you a little taste, this set will be designed for kids ages… sitting up to about 8 years old.  However, I think a small family would be cute too.

We aren’t taking appointments yet, but if you’d like to save the date, it will be Thursday November 29 and Saturday Dec. 1st. Yes, two days only! In fact, if you’d like to be put on the waiting list, I will call you BEFORE I announce it!  Just fill out the form below to get on the waiting list.  More details to come!!

What are you waiting for? It’s time to schedule your 2017 family portrait session with Carrollton’s favorite photographer!
